TROUBLESHOOTING

;NGINE FAILS TO START OR STARTS WITH DIFFICULTY

CAUSE REMEDY

Controlsnotin start position.

Sparkplugwiredisconnectedfromspark plug,

Spark plugfouled.

Sparkplugporcelaincracked.

Insufficientfuel.

Water ordirt infuel.

Impropercarburetoradjustment

Move ENGINE CONTROL or equipmentcontrolto 'HI" or

START postion. See "STARTING" instructionsin this

manual.

Connect SPARKPLUG WlREtoSPARKPLUG.

Remove SPARK PLUG and clean it. See "SPARK

PLUG" instructions in "MAINTENANCE" section in this

manual.

Installnew sparkplug.

Fill FUELTANK per 'BEFORE STARTING' instructions.

Drain FUEL TANKand re-fillwithclean,fresh gasoline.

See "BEFORESTARTING"instructionsin thismanual.

Adjustcarburetor(if applicable). See "ADJUSTMENTS"

sectioninthismanual.

ENGINE LACKS POWER

CAUSE

Dirtyaircleaner.

Impropercarburetoradjustment.

Lackof lubricaiton.

REMEDY

Replace or clean air cleaner per "AIR CLEANER"

instructions in 'MAINTENANCE" section in this manual.

Adjustcarburetor (if applicable). See "ADJUSTMENTS"

sectionin thismanual.

Filloil sumpto proper level. See "BEFORESTARTING"

instructionssectioninthismanual.

ENGINE MISSES UNDER LOAD

CAUSE

Spark plug fouled.

Sparkplugporcelain cracked.

Impropersparkpluggap.

Impropercarburetor adjustment

REMEDY

Remove SPARK PLUG and clean it. See "SPARK

PLUG" instructions in "MAINTENANCE" section in this

manual.

In_allnew SPARK PLUG.

Regap SPARK PLUG electrodes. See 'SPARK PLUG"

instructions in "MAINTENANCE" section in this manual.
